Purchased in 1998 with 28,000 miles on it, the car had been sitting, covered, up on blocks, in a barn for roughly 6 years. (The proverbial barn find!) The red paint and interior were in remarkable condition. Even the tires were good and not flat-spotted due to being up on blocks. The car was in original condition; however, all the hydraulics were frozen up and needed to be replaced. After draining and replacing all fluids and turning the engine over by hand, it fired right up.
     Since then, the engine and transmission have been rebuilt. All hydraulics have been replaced. Minor items in the interior have been added or replaced. The suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc., etc. have all been replaced or rebuilt.
    The car now has about 30,000 miles on it.
    We have another one, totally disassembled, in boxes, undergoing restoration. This one is also a 1959, iris blue with 60,000 miles, and was purchased in 1988.
