A nice day for a drive to Chattanooga
by Ralph Arata
Saturday, October 4th was a very nice day! Sunny but cool and clear. It was a nice day for a drive…to Chattanooga.
The Southern British Car Club of Chattanooga held their annual British car show at Cambridge Square just a bit northeast of center city. Cambridge Square offers car show goers a perfect setting to spend a day with plenty of shops, coffee houses and the full plethora of restaurants. Of course there were also the cars! This show had a full menu of British marques including Triumph, Jensen, Jaguar, Lotus, Mini, Healey and most assuredly MG. Probably somewhere in the 80 to 90 car area.
The BBC was there, arriving at approximately 10:30AM. Susan and I drove down separately as we live closer to Chattanooga than the folks in Maryville. My casual count is about 7 members from our club, which is not bad! There were also some EAS folks there too.
Susan was just a bit hungry, and I needed a cup of coffee badly so we found a great donut shop that took care of these needs.

The car show venue at Cambridge Square is something all our club members should experience. The drive there is fairly short and scenic but when one arrives the atmosphere at Cambridge Square is simply exceptional. Open, clean and plenty of retail establishments to explore.
This was truly a “fun” show with many cars for each class and some very rare ones too; a show with many cars for each class and some very rare ones too. A couple of old Jaguars and T Series MGs were my favorites. Not to mention a very nice TR-3. Jesses & Mallory were also here with their very nice TR-4. (Is that an “A” or a “250”?)
